In this essay I’m most proud of the idea I came up with trying to look at the relationship between music and empathy and I also am proud of the experiment that I came up with to try to observe a relationship between the two. I would change the conclusion on my essay if I had more time because I feel like it didn’t really fully summarize everything I covered in my essay so it kind of sounds like I just got lazy at the end. Also I would add some more previous research on my topic in the argumentative part of my essay because I feel like it could’ve used a more in depth look at the relationship between music and emotions. From the previous processes that we went through in this class, the annotated bibliography helped me the most because it helped me get organized with my sources and gave me a guideline as to where I should include each source. Furthermore I also appreciated the annotated bibliography because I would forget what some of the articles I had selected were about so it was nice to have a little summary of them. From this project I learned that research can be very difficult and there are a lot of factors that go into writing a research paper but I also found that it can actually be quite interesting if you do it on a topic you enjoy. I really like learning about music so I didn’t mind putting all the work into trying to find out about music and empathy. I learned that there is a complex relationship between music and the brain and it’s something I want to further find out about. If I could change anything about this project I think I would choose to have another peer editing session with the final draft so I could add some more finishing touches to it.
