Final Draft
My writing process for the research paper was supposed to be different than the writing process for the genre adaptation essay. I had written an outline and created my annotated bibliography, but when it came to the actual writing process, I ended up doing the same thing in both essays. When I’m writing an essay I have to get into a type of productive zone. I start typing and just keep going until I’m finished. While I’m working if I need a source or more information, I look it up on the spot and insert the source into my work. I don’t really work as well if I have a concrete outline. A lot of my best work has come from when I’m just spitballing with only a loose idea of what I’m going to write about. Overall I’ve enjoyed this project more because I care deeply about the issue that I took up. However, I strongly disliked the fact that we had to use peer-reviewed sources for the majority of our sources. I could’ve made my points much more comfortable if I could base the core of my argument on government databases and the official NASA website. My rough draft was well written in terms of a normal essay, but I had to change the formatting and add arguments and a literature review. I appreciated the conferences because I had no idea I was doing anything wrong until we reviewed my work together.
