Potential Research Paper Topics Ryan Nelson
Topic: The Effects of Angry Music on Teenage Listeners
Key Words: Angry music, teenage brains, violence, real-world actions
Research Question: Does violent or angry music lead to violent real-world actions from teenage listeners and, if not, how does it affect them?
I picked this topic because I myself used to be very into angry music, and sometimes still listen to it depending on what activity I am doing (i.e. exercising). I have never acted violently (unless you count taking karate classes as a kid), and have heard people make the argument that angry music contributes to teenagers committing violent acts in real life. I do not agree with that argument, and I would like to explain my reasoning for it. My study will be backed by past studies, surveys, and analyzations of course.
