From my first draft to my final draft I think what I improved the most on was giving supporting evidence for my analysis. It wasn’t that I necessarily provided more quotes, but just in general i explained my claims better in the final draft than I did at the beginning. The higher word count that was required on the final draft forced me to do so.
I think the most important thing I learned from this project is that I am pretty well prepared to write for college courses. I came into this thinking I wasn’t a good enough writer because it is an upper level english class and I have not really taken a college writing course before. After doing this project I feel like I did a good job and am a talented writer.
If I had more time, I would expand on my ideas more or add another section explaining the differences in genres. I think my paper does a good job at 1500 words but could do even better if it was longer.
If I were to rewrite the prompt on the syllabus I would clarify what a genre is. It is confusing on the syllabus because it makes it seem as though a book or a movie is in and of itself a genre.
