Journal 2 Prompt

1. It got a lot longer. While my essay did start out as 1200 words, I found myself struggling to find more topics to write about to add those last few words in my rough draft. I didn't have a thesis till my third draft so my essay gained a more structure and focus. I still struggle with writing a coherent and well written thesis that encapsulates all the topics I wish to analyze. 

2. Time management. I gave myself plenty of time to write multiple drafts, review my work, and ask for advice from my peers. 

3. I would schedule another appointment with the reading and writing center. They are helpful however the soonest I can get an appointment is a week in advance. I would also come into office hours to ask you for help. Overall I am satisfied with my essay and I hope you also deem it A worthy. I feel as though I have an in-depth analysis of themes, genres, and rhetoric. 

4. I would change it so students know they are allowed to study pieces that are both before 2000 as long as they are different genres or multiple centuries apart. I believe in class you agreed that this was acceptable, however, during brainstorming I had to limit myself to stories that came after 2000.
