Journal 2: Prompt Chris Link
1. While writing project 1,
what do you think you improved on the most between your first and final drafts?
While I was looking at my
first draft and my final draft, the main differences I noticed was how much
more analysis I had in the final compared to the rough draft. I included a lot
more information on the audience shift between the movie adaptation and the
original book and I completely added genre discussion and reasons for the
shift.
2. What was the most
important thing you learned from this project, whether from class,
conferences/peer review, or the writing process itself?
I think the most important
thing I learned from this project was how helpful writing multiple drafts could
be. In high school, despite writing more essays than I can even remember, I
never had to write drafts. Everything was just “write this paper, turn it in,
and you’ll get a grade back in a week without any critique.” Seeing the
difference in my writing from the first draft, to the second, and onto the
final draft was astounding.
3. If you had another week to
work on your essay, what would you change or work on?
Honestly, I don’t think I
would change anything. I completed my essay well before the due date so I wasn’t
really rushed for time or worried about anything. I think I wrote it as well as
I could have with the abilities I have currently.
4. If you could rewrite the
project prompt in the syllabus, what would you change?
Wow Chris what a fantastic post. You really are the voice of a generation.
ReplyDeleteHi Chris
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see that the multiple drafts have assisted you in your writing process. I'm sorry that the peer reviews didn't help you, but I'm glad that the conference gave you satisfying feedback.
