Journal 2

My essay changed significantly throughout the drafts. At first my essay really was a “Shitty Rough Draft” I just spit out everything I could think of and not just because, I had procrastinated. I felt that this helped me a lot in the future because, I could edit and change things around without worrying about word count. So overall, I think the biggest improvement from the first draft to the last was the overall structure and quality. I really learned to just let the writing happen and not try to control everything. I really enjoyed the conference because, I felt it gave me clear direction and an understanding of exactly what was being asked. There was no gray area for me to mess up on.

If I had another week to work on this essay there is probably not much I would change. I would probably expand on some of the subplots and refine some of my word choices but I am already happy with my draft. I would certainly rewrite the project prompt in the syllabus if I could. When I first read it, I was terrified of this assignment. It asks for a ton of things to be included and makes the paper seem over bearing. I would dumb it down a lot and make everything overly clear.

  1. Hi Emma
I'm sorry that the task seemed overbearing to you at first! Unfortunately lots of college assignments have longer prompts and requirements. Please feel free to come to me and discuss any aspects that may seem challenging to you
