Chapter 7
This book is showing a very consistent formula. One that is very easy to follow and great at explaining, but it does become overwrought at times. I found the breakdowns of every detail of both the MLA and APA formats to be unnecessary, as Word has templates that fill in a lot of this information and keeps our format for us. While it is nice to have something in print to refer back to, I don't think this will be that helpful.
What was helpful in this chapter were the very explicit directions of when to cite, quote, paraphrase and summarize. While I have written many research papers before, and I am taking this class a bit late, I found myself knowing all of these rules, but I never have seen them explained so clearly. This book gave us down to bullet points of how to tackle these types of integrating sources. As we have so many sources in this paper, it is definitely appreciated to have this review to be clear on how we can all succeed. I really didn't find much new information here, but that doesn't mean it's not helpful. If I find myself questioning the best way to incorporate a fact or idea into my research paper then maybe I will look back at this chapter and refresh. I also found it funny how the book explains paraphrasing, and then says it's not recommended for academic articles, because that makes that entire section seem like a waste. The good and bad examples of each type of source incorporation was great to see, and that may be the thing that I learn from the most.

I love when chapters like this are quick and to the point like the bullet points they were giving us. I like the idea of them just telling us how to fix things and how to be better writers but do not spend forever trying to explain them. I also learn a lot off of examples so I like how this book gives us them in many different ways.
