Chapter 5
It has been quite a while since I had to write a full on research paper so coming into this I was kinda intimidated especially because we were greatly limited with our topics compared to ones I have done in the past so up until reading chapter five I was really struggling with finding an interesting topic to me that would also fulfill all the requirements. The things in chapter five that I have benefited from the most had to be the questions it proposed to me to think about while trying to narrow down my topic along with the brainstorming ideas it proposed. all together I found chapter five very helpful and I think I will be using it not only for narrowing down my topic but other things like my bibliography along the way.
I completely agree with your statement about being intimidated when the project was first mentioned in class. I also was very uneasy about this whole research paper thing, as it has been quite a long time since I had to write one. I agree that finding a topic is probably the hardest part because you cannot be too biased, broad, or narrow! It's very hard to find a middle ground, but the chapter definitely helped a little with the tips and tricks on who to get started.
ReplyDeleteWhile reading all these posts from my classmates, the predominant theme is us expressing our anxiety over picking a topic for our paper. While Chapter five was well written it was only helpful to an extent and it will be hard to know if your topic choice was successful until you have decided on your theme and sources.
