Ch. 5 Response

This chapter really went into detail on the steps of finding a research question and developing it, and really broke it down step by step. This was an awesome introduction to research papers as I've never done one before. I do not know yet what my research topic will be but I do have some ideas and I intended to follow the advice given in this chapter to develop it. Although this chapter makes it seem easy to pick a topic and develop the question I feel like I will still struggle a little bit since my major is political science and most of the topics that interest me are very controversial and probably banned.  But, the book did help me develop one of the topics I am considering writing about, race, it gave me quite a few ideas on what to write about and how to develop my argument, but i still don't have a solid question. I think this chapter was an easy read but a little lengthy which caused me to get distracted at times. I was a little confused on the annotated bibliography when it was presented in class, and although the section was short i feel like i have a much better understanding of it. Like almost everything I've read in this book, it sounds great in theory but i will probably struggle to apply all those steps in real life. Hopefully my knowledge of this chapter will help me when writing my paper.
