Annoying Ways Chris Link

I found this article to be rather humorous compared to the other readings we’ve had this year, which definitely made it easier to read. The beginning of the article immediately threw a metaphor at us that compared sloppy writers to slow drivers. As someone who has only been driving for about two years, I may be part of the problem. Sorry friends. Anyways, I feel like it is a very apt comparison. The sloppy driver/writer isn’t really aware of the rules of the road/rules of writing and doesn’t really care either. This article is rather helpful talking about quoting and sourcing, especially since we have an essay where we need something along the lines of 8+ sources due within the month. Not having the knowledge to properly source and quote would probably make more experienced and credible writers look down at you, so I’m glad we’re learning about it this week. Overall, I enjoyed the article a fair bit more than the others we’ve read so far and I hope we continue on an upwards trend.

  1. Don't worry about the driving most people in this town still haven't discovered what a stop sign is, or that when driving don't be right behind someone because they might roll back. But i agree that this reading was actually enjoyable to read not accounting for the one draw back being how long it was.

  2. I for one also enjoyed the driving comparisons and as far as your driving goes just remember to stay on the right. The comparisons were very thought provoking since it stated that neither the driver or writer knew the rules but then proceeded to tell how it annoys readers and what to do to fix it. The Article was extremely helpful to me as I assume it was just as much to you!
