Project 1 Shitty First Draft
My experience with this draft was sadly not like the "Shitty First Draft" process. I had to take a more of a organized approach at this essay. It was too difficult to just write freely and care-free. I just feel like I had to follow more of an organized approach to it because I've always been wired to plan out easy and to make the first draft at condensed version of my best writing. I also didn't feel the type of stress over coming up with ideas that was felt in "shitty first drafts. I felt like I could be stuck writing wise but not feel like I have to kill myself just because I can't come up with a good idea. I feel like I will relate more to "Shitty First Drafts" in later drafts but right now it's not as relatable.
I sort of agree in the fact that my draft didn't really follow the "Shitty First Draft" process either. For some reason, I had trouble trying to outline this paper because I wasn't really sure what to expect in regards to how it would turn out. I feel like I need to take your approach and outline next time in order to make sure I cover all topics and things required to discuss.
ReplyDeleteI wish that I could have followed your more organized approach because I would have felt so much less stress than I did when starting this process. However, it turned out well for me. I let my thoughts poor out while typing them out on my shitty first draft. I truly believe that is process will really help me for the final project, as well as your approach will better you. Everyone is different, especially when it comes to writing, so we just have to find out what best works for ourselves and go with that. No two people are going to have the same approach, and that is what makes wiring to interesting!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree just letting words flow freely wasn't gonna work for me and usually just leads to a massive dumpster fire of a paper. Writing in the same style as shitty first drafts just seems to weird its such a strange set of ideals after being told how to write for so long.
