Chapter 9
This Chapter is basically a introduction to peer review it helps to show how peer review can be extremely helpful. It shows how peer review improved a Authors piece overtime and it also gave prime examples of questions to ask your peers in order to get good responses in order to progress your writing. I for one have done peer review before and most of the time it isn't very beneficial, due to peers not knowing exactly what they are doing or the Author not being specific on what they want fixed from their piece or what they want looked over by their peers. This passage gave us prime examples that we can use to improve our piece and questions to ask to make sure we obtain exactly what were are looking for. Hopefully this will make peer review actually helpful unlike in the past when it was just a joke. The Author's piece contained a lot of criticism from her peers in the first piece but in the end due to that criticism it was a great piece that targeted the audience that it intended too. This passage or Chapter will definitely help us with our peer review ability but to what extent I guess will be determined.
I agree, I definitely thought this chapter was helpful and I feel more confident about how to help others and ask for what I need help with as well. I also thought the examples provided were very useful .
ReplyDeleteI also agree with the thought that this chapter was helpful. Now I know how the peer review method works, I'm more confident in the process than I was before reading the chapter and everyone's blog posts.
ReplyDeleteI agree that this chapter turned out to be very useful to all writers and that writers will be able to benefit from the lessons within the chapter. That learning a better approach with peer review will influence and help a writer better his or her writing. Writers will walk away from this chapter feeling more confident and knowledgeable when it comes to peer review and how this will apply to better writing from these writers.
