Project Presentations

International Student Achievement: Analyzing World Education Systems
  • Emily Nadel
  • (Purpose) The purpose of the project is to show the audience the differing education systems around the world and how the U.S. lags behind them due to its more all-around focus rather than the heavy emphasis on doing well in school like in other countries.

Saving the World, One Veggie at a Time
  • Caroline Bing
  • (My Project) If this were my project, I would focus more on a singular genre as told by the syllabus, as she talked about all three genres rather than a singular genre, which would have worked better for the 5 min presentation.

Evolution of Music Genres through technology
  • Analeza Newman
  • (What works) For this project, what really works is the instagram page that is shown off, its clear a fair amount of effort went into creating this page and really helps us as the audience understand the topic better.

Trafficking in South Africa
  • Kianna Walker
  • (Purpose) The purpose of this project is to educate the audience on the issue of child and sex trafficking in South Africa, how it happens, and how it can be stopped.

Save the Coral Reefs
  • Josh Liles
  • (My Project) If this were my project, I would make a better effort in the presentation aspect and explain more in depth the topic, as it is certainly an interesting topic to speak about.

Growing up with Strict Parents
  • Lauren Bodden
  • (Purpose) To show that strict parents can cause major problems with children, as they can leave lasting mental effects on their children.

Going Vegetarian
  • Sydney Sauer
  • (What works) The memes work pretty well to subvert this project, as it is a good way to get the point across by using comedy to the audience.

Corporate Tax Cuts
  • Garret Podolan
  • (My Project) What I would have done with my project is go more in depth when talking about corporate tax cuts, as I was still fairly confused what the entire purpose of the project was by the end.

The Education of Physician Assistants
  • Hailey Maksymiak
  • (What Works) The facebook page works pretty well, as it has a decent amount of information present to those interested in the topic of physician assistants.

Fad not Rad (Fad Diets)
  • Leah Putnal
  • (Purpose) Fad diets are bad for you, as while they can work very easily at first, you end up taking step backwards since you often cut out important foods with vital nutrients, which is detrimental to your health.

Patria, O Muerte The Cuban Embargo
  • Alexis Aguila
  • (What works) The poem is really good and hits the point perfectly about the feelings around the cuban embargo and the conflicted feelings, such as stress and fear over the cuban embargo.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Gabby
  • (What works) The pamphlet that she created works very well for the topic as it has a lot of information present on it and could be very useful for veterans suffering from PTSD, since getting a service dog can be extremely beneficial for them and their PTSD.

Euthanasia The Real Way to Relax
  • Hannah Lipman
  • (What I would do) I would make the video a bit longer and add sound to make it just a more effective as a subversive genre.

Bugging Out

  • Julie Cotton
  • (What works) The memes work really, really well at subverting what many see as a disgusting topic, they were very effective at making the topic humorous.
