Remix

As a business major, I disagreed with a lot of the opinions expressed in  this article. It may be a negative aspect of our society that we so much commercialization, and we may want to do whatever we want with other people's creation, but that's not right. I strongly believe that if someone creates something, it belongs to them. Therefore it is theirs to determine when it can and cannot be used. We hold that standard with writing, as plagiarism is a highly revered offense, so I don't understand this sort of double standard to which music or video should be held any differently.

However, I do like to use other's music in videos or other projects I create, and I believe this should be done, as long as you properly cite and acknowledge the person who originally created it, and you don't stand to profit from the new work created. Keeping that in mind for this upcoming project, I will allow myself to fully explore the forms of genre and pick one that I find appropriate. And in the case that I do a parody, which i may very well do as I enjoy parodies, I will be sure to give proper credit and establish that some part of my project is not my own work or creation.
