remix response
1. I believe that the culture of remix is good. I feel it has the capability and influence to grow and become a major trend. This is because their audience is teenagers and young adults who find interest in remix songs. I do not believe it is plagiarism because they do credit the owner of the original song and just want to add their own spin on it and want to make a song that is already great even greater.
2. I understand the importance of copyright and the reason to why owners want to protect their original work. They do not want just anyone taking their work as theirs just because they had a few verses or slightly changed the beat of the song. The guidelines listed I feel are too harsh and need to be pulled back to make it more relaxed.
3. I believe that when you borrow someone's work there needs to be specific and reasonable explanations on why you want to do it. Reasons such as to be a reference when doing researching or wanting to prove a point. The most important thing to do is to give credit where credit is due and acknowledge the original creator and his or her work or works. The absolute worst thing to do is to cover someone's work completely and says its your own. If you want to put your own twist or spark into a song or anything in that matter, then give credit to the creator and your work will then be acceptable to all audiences.
