Chapter 9 Review

I found Chapter 9 to be very helpful for me because I never really knew throughout my English classes what good peer review was and how to do it. Most of the times it would be just a "good job" or some thumbs up telling me that my paper was great. This was not very useful for me because my peer reviewer would just be agreeing with me and not really any valuable feedback. After reading this  chapter, I am happy to walk away with a better insight and understanding of the process of peer review and the benefits that peer review provide for writers. Throughout my experience as a writer and being a part of peer review, I never was able to give or be the recipient of constructive criticism. I felt that this was stopping myself from becoming a better writer and that I was not truly helping my peer with his or her writing. Within this chapter many examples are provided to show a better way to peer review that I felt that I could change my approach towards peer review. I am excited and hopefully that after reading this chapter the lessons that I have been taught will positively impact my writing in the future. That I will be able to be a more effective partner in peer review by giving better constructive criticism to other writers.
